My purpose is to help individuals heal the pain caused by a significant loss such as a death, divorce or any of the 43 losses associated with grief. It is important to promote healthy thoughts in the participants to allow healing of the heart to begin.
Grief Recovery Method®
The Grief Recovery Method®: Grief Support Group is an action program that helps people move beyond the pain caused by loss and into recovery where a more fulfilling and rewarding life awaits. It is a program which creates a safe environment emphasizing the confidentiality of all participants. As a Grief Recovery Specialist®, I facilitate individual and group sessions to help guide participants into recovery.
There are many support groups that allow you to talk about your pain. You may go week after week but are not given any guidelines or tools to help you find relief. The Grief Recovery Method®: Grief Support Group will help pave the way in guiding you to take specific action steps necessary to complete your grief.
In this Grief Recovery Method®: Grief Support Group, we will focus on the Myths About Grief. Many friends and family members often say well-intentioned words following your loss that are hurtful and provide no comfort. Often times these words may act as a stimulus causing emotions of feeling sad, angry, or depressed.
Individual Sessions: 7 weeks (once a week), 1-hour session.
Group Sessions: 8 weeks (once a week), 2-hour session.

Grief Recovery Method: Introduction
If you continue to latch onto the six myths presented below, then it is probable that you will not fully recover from your loss and you will remain stuck only to feel like you are going around in circles.
